The Confident Parent workshop
Because birth is just the beginning — prepare for life with your baby with calm, confidence, and care.
Saturday 8th of November 9am-12.30pm
The early days with a newborn can feel like a whirlwind of joy, exhaustion, and uncertainty.
The Confident Parent workshop goes beyond standard NHS antenatal classes - offering hands-on practice, realistic preparation, and compassionate support for both you and your baby.
You’ll leave feeling calmer, better informed, and ready to meet those first few weeks with confidence and connection.
In a relaxed, judgement-free space, we’ll walk you through the essential skills for those first few days and weeks — giving you the tools and reassurance you need to meet your baby’s needs and trust your instincts.
In this session, we’ll gently explore:
Nappy changing basics and how to spot signs of healthy feeding and development
Umbilical cord care and what to expect as your baby heals
Bathing your newborn safely and calmly
Safe sleep practices, including current guidance on reducing risks
Baby wearing - practice with Scottish Baby Box sling and talk about safety considerations
Winding and soothing techniques — what to try when your baby won’t settle
How to build connection and confidence in the early days of parenting
Feeding foundations — breast/chest, bottle, or combination
Understanding normal newborn behavior & cues
Caring for yourself physically and emotionally after birth
Perfect for first-time parents in Glasgow
Whether you're a first-time parent or simply looking to refresh your knowledge, this session is full of practical tips, live demonstrations, and space for your questions. You'll leave with printed handouts and checklists to support you once your baby is here.
But just as important as the information is the feeling you’ll take away: you can do this. I believe that confidence doesn’t come from doing things perfectly - it comes from feeling supported, informed, and emotionally held as you learn.
I am here for every kind of parent and every kind of start. You’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it all out at once.
