Antenatal workshop 5:
Feeding your baby
Breast\Chest , Bottle & Everything In Between
Sat 6th of August 10am-12pm
A calming, confidence-building 2-hour workshop
Join as a one-off or as part of the full 5-session antenatal course
Feeding your baby is about so much more than just milk, it’s about bonding, confidence, closeness, and learning to listen to one another. In this final session, we gently guide you through the essentials of feeding, so you can step into this new chapter feeling prepared, supported, and empowered, no matter how you plan to feed your baby.
We take a non-judgemental, inclusive approach to feeding . Whether you're planning to breastfeed/ chestfeed, bottle feed, express, or try a combination, you’ll learn not just the “how-to,” but the “what-if,” the “what-helps,” and most importantly, how to tune into your baby and yourself with compassion and confidence.
In this session, we’ll explore:
The basics of breastfeeding/chestfeeding - latch, positioning, and what’s common
Bottle feeding and combination feeding - paced feeding, responsive techniques, choosing bottles and formula
Feeding cues, how to know when your baby is hungry (or not)
Winding techniques, and signs of tummy discomfort
What the first feeds might look and feel like
Common challenges (like sore nipples, supply worries, or reflux) and what can help
Where to turn for ongoing support - signposting to lactation consultants, local groups, and feeding clinics
You'll also receive practical handouts, including feeding position guides and support resources, to keep close in those early days.
Above all, this session is designed to remind you that how you feed your baby is only part of the story - the love, care, and connection you bring to it matters just as much. Whether feeding goes to plan or not, you deserve support without pressure and information without overwhelm.
You are not alone in this, and you don't have to get it perfect to get it right.
