A calming, confidence-building 2-hour workshop
Join as a one-off or as part of the full 5-session antenatal course
Birth is deeply personal, and there is no one “right” way to do it. In this empowering and inclusive session, we focus on helping you feel informed, confident, and in control of your choices, whatever kind of birth you're planning (or open to).
You’ll be gently guided through the full spectrum of birthing options, from home birth to hospital birth, water birth to planned Caesarean and everything in between. We’ll talk honestly and openly about interventions, pain relief choices, and the “what ifs” that can sometimes feel overwhelming, so that you’re not caught off guard if your birth unfolds differently than you expected.
Importantly, you’ll learn that when it comes to birth, if you don’t know your options, it’s as if you don’t have them. This session is about reclaiming that knowledge so you can make decisions that align with your values, your needs, and your body.
In this session, we’ll explore:
Different birth settings (home, birth centre, hospital) and what each offers
Who can be with you during birth, and how to choose your support team
An overview of medical pain relief options: from gas & air to epidurals
What common interventions might be suggested and why. How to navigate them with confidence.
How to ask questions, communicate with your care team, and advocate for yourself.
How to begin thinking about your birth preferences that are flexible, informed and true to you.
You’ll leave with non-judgemental, evidence-based information, as well as handouts and recap notes to help you reflect and revisit what matters to you.
Whether you're hoping for a hands-off, low-intervention birth or feel reassured by the idea of medical support, or anywhere in between, this session is designed to respect and support your unique path. Our goal is not to lead you to a specific kind of birth, but to help you feel equipped and emotionally ready to make the choices that are right for you.
Because your birth matters. And how you feel during it matters too.
